The next step was to add the characters. I made the manip of Jack and Irina in the top left. The manip was made as a different file and I copied it into the piece. I still wasn't entirely sure what the exact purpose of the piece was, but in addition to the lonely vibe I got the idea for reflection. Jack on the pier seemed to be thinking and reflecting. Hence, the use of the manip of J/I...which is actually supposed to be younger version of the pair. A reflection of what Jack is thinking, like he is reflecting on the past. Hey I was just going with it. I ended up using two different layers to get the right coloring on the pair. One set really bright that I layed on top with a 65% opacity. Otherwise the picture was just too dark.

I then chose a picture of Jack where he was looking foward and one of Irina. I thought that their expressions matched good enough. I stuck Irina next to the tree, just because and masked out half because I thought it looked cool. She looked like she was coming out of a section of the paper. I then added Jack to balance her out.
