
I then decided to stick
Jack on the pier. I took a picture and desaturated the hell out of it. Then
I masked around him and scaled him to fit. For some reason I thought 'hey lets
put another pier in the picture', so I did. I fooled with the brightness and
contrast until I got the background to really come through. The best technique
when you are using linear burn is high contrast. The top pier looked too dark
so I copied the layer and played with brightness and contrast until the bench
popped out more.
